Biography
Eclipse Wind Trio blends brass and woodwinds together in a way that defines a new sound in the chamber music idiom. Composed of trumpeter Tyler Graves, saxophonist Matthew Swallow, and bassoonist Raymundo Jacinto, the ensemble was originally formed during their graduate years at Miami University of Ohio to perform Bläserkammermusik No. 2 for trumpet, alto saxophone & bassoon by Ernst-Lothar Von Knorr, and Lamenti, by Hans Holewa. Intrigued by this rare combination, Eclipse has taken upon itself to champion the instrumentation through performance and the commissioning of new works. Within less than a year, the ensemble has already begun to attain its goal via performances in venues such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, Bennett Gordon Hall as part of Ravinia Festival 2012, and Lincoln Center, premiering several new works. Eclipse has collaborated with Adam Marks of Fifth House Ensemble during the 2012 Fresh Inc music festival, and attended the 2012 Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival at Lincoln Center. They have priemiered works by John Clark and Erick Knechtges. During the summer of 2014, Eclipse is seeking to record their first professional album, featuring both original and new works, specialized to this unique chamber group.
